Volunteer Bureau Staff
If you are interested in putting some of your spare time to good use, the Volunteer Bureau at Merthyr Tydfil is a great place to start. The bureau team will be able to tell you what voluntary work is available locally and will be able to put you in touch with local voluntary organisations. Karen’s role entails developing volunteer outreach facilities in Communities First areas and promoting good practice. In this capacity she is involved in the recruiting and placing of volunteers, and the expansion of volunteering opportunities. She has responsibility for developing supported volunteering initiatives and opportunities for people with drug and alcohol addiction, mental health and learning difficulties, ex-offenders and the unemployed.
