Building Business Bridges

Hello and welcome to the Building Business Bridges webpage!

This page will provide you with all the information you need to know about the initiative and how it can work alongside your business or how it can help you if your part of a local voluntary organisation.

BBB is an initiative VAMT re-launched in May 2005. The aim of BBB is to enable voluntary and community groups in Merthyr Tydfil to gain the support of, and work in partnership with private and public sector organisations. BBB hopes this link will allow better communications between the voluntary and private sector with VAMT acting as a central source.

How Can Your Business Get Involved?

This initiative was originally launched in 2002 with over 100 businesses joining. The scheme was very successful for our member organisations with support being given in:

• Time
• Kind
• Cash
• Mentoring

If your business could give any of the above to a worthwhile cause then we’d like to hear from you!

What Will My Business Gain From Joining?

Businesses today are realising that they need to get involved with the communities that surround them in order to continue to be successful and profitable. Businesses need to pay more attention to the ethical demands and of their customers, shareholders and investors.

Your business will be seen as actively supporting your employees, customers and the communities in which they work and live. This will lead to an enhanced corporate image. Your business will be included on all publicity. Being part of BBB will give you the ‘feel good’ factor. Your employees can develop and gain experience from supporting voluntary groups. Your business will also be given the opportunity to have your logo, company profile and link to your website on www.vamt.net/bbb.htm

How Does It Work?

When you contact the coordinator with details of a donation in time, kind or cash, we will match it to a group that will benefit from it the most. Our members have benefited from many donations including, surplus office furniture, sponsorship, raffle prizes and business advice.
